Window Shop 2020: See • Scan • Support Local

This Saturday, November 28th, many of our local makers’ work is going to be popping up in vacant window fronts throughout Portland!

As you know, many of our local makers cannot access markets to sell their goods due COVID-19. Thus, as a collaborative effort between Makers Union PDX and Portland Made, we set up a platform for makers to showcase a select few of their products in vacant window fronts. By simply scanning a QR code on the window, you can “window shop” and purchase the items available in each window directly on PDXwindowshop.com. Shop local, shop small, shop safe this holidays!

Find windows at the following locations:

Support for the BIPOC Makers

Half of the brands represented are owned by BIPOC makers. And as a way to further our support for the Black community, 15% of the money you spend on Window Shop 2020 will be donated to Black Resilience Fund so they may continue to do the incredible work they do to heal and bring justice to Black community members through direct action.

We’ve featured some of our Portland Made members and independent BIPOC makers who are participating in Portland Window Shop 2020 below. Make sure to check the window fronts at the Alberta, 28th, and Quimby locations or PDXwindowshop.com for the full list of makers and goodies!

Poppy & Finch

Growing up in Indonesia, Weina Dinata was always captivated by plants. When Weina realized how misunderstood Native plants were, Weina was inspired to integrate her passion, design skills, and artistic vision to create an awareness around Native plants. So, Poppy and Finch was created. From holding native plant workshops to creating products and floral designs, Poppy and Finch is a place where you can surround yourself with the real, authentic beauty of nature.

House Dogge

After 30 years of apparel design and leadership experience at brands like Nike, Adidas, Levi Strauss & Co., Angela Medlin decided to turn her passion project into a full-fledged artisanal dog product brand. As dog lovers, House Dogge creates products that express kindness, while prioritizing fun, minimalism, comfort, and eco-consciousness — just like the Bamboo and Tanned Leather Dog Leash they’re selling!

Honey Bee Lemonade & Syrups

Originally serving out of a window of a food cart, Andrea Wade’s Honeybee Lemonade Syrups are now on market shelves throughout Portland. Andrea strives to create flavors that are reminiscent of Jamaican tradition while tying in the flavors and colors of the Pacific Northwest. All Honeybee Lemonade Syrups are all-natural and made by hand with whole fruit.

Hot Mama Salsa

Founder Nikki Guerrero created Hot Mama Salsa in 2009 out of a craving for the flavors of home, Mexican-inspired southwest cuisine. Using the Gurrerro family’s traditional recipes and ethnic cooking methods, Hot Mama Salsa produces fresh salsa, hot sauces, and chili oils that showcases the rich and expansive flavors of chili peppers from cultures all over the globe.

Mister Ok’s Essentials

After finding out about the highly-concentrated toxins in our everyday conventional candles, Mister’s Ok founder quickly took it upon herself to create natural candles. By combining 100% soy wax with a wooden cedar wick and natural essential oils, their candles are able to facilitate cleaning burning at home. As a mother, Mister Ok’s Essentials hope to share the love that they put into their product for their son with the world!

Thank you for supporting our local economy and culture with your purchases!
